A 500-page report on Japan's Fukushima nuclear disaster was released last week by a government-appointed investigative panel. Tokyo Electric Power Company's Kimitoshi Yahagi, General Manager of Nuclear Power & Plant Siting Administrative Department will deliver a keynote address at Nuclear Power Asia 2012 at the end of this month on what really happened at Fukushima and the key lessons learnt.
We also have 2 interesting articles we would like to share. The first article is by L-3 MAPPS on Learning Simulators, a relatively new idea for those looking to develop personnel/capacity in the NPP business. The second article is by Norton Rose released just last month and a policy update on Australia's uranium export to India.
Both L-3 MAPPS and Norton Rose will be attending and exhibiting at Nuclear Power Asia. The other companies exhibiting include, China National Nuclear Corporation, GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy, Excel Services, Pillsbury, GSE Systems, Westinghouse Electric Company, World Nuclear Association, Mitsubishi. Secure your seat to attend both the conference and exhibition.
Finally, in our last emailer we had asked you to vote on Which country you feel will lead the way in 2012 and beyond for nuclear power export?

To date the results reveal that South Korea (43%) is deemed the favorite to lead the race. The rest are Russia (31%), USA (14%), France (9%) and Japan (4%).
Don't agree with the results? Let me know what you think. China was not included in the survey of nuclear export countries. However industry experts predict that China will soon play a major role in nuclear power export. In our next emailer, we will have a focus on China's nuclear expansion.
Have a lovely year ahead and we look forward to meeting you in January in Kuala Lumpur!

Zaf Coelho
